Painting of the Month
This oil was painted on location at the Pembrokeshire village of Lawrenny which is situated on the banks of the Cleddau Estuary. I have often wanted to paint this lovely little village but the light was never quite right until I visited on the 8th of November this year. The low Winter light was casting strong shadows across the street and ideal for a painting. I set my easel up as close as I could to the side of the road for safety and painted the scene in about 2 hours. During my time painting, the peace was only disturbed by the occasional car passing and a lovely elderly Gentleman with a London accent who walked up for a chat recalling his adventures in life and how he came to settle in Lawrenny with his wife. I have titled the painting “Lawrenny” and it has now been added to the Online Shop.
